GUNDA REIRE is Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Latvia and Director of the Center for International Studies. She also holds the position of Visiting Lecturer at the Riga Graduate School of Law and the Riga Stradiņš University. Combining both academic and practical spheres of politics, she has served as Deputy Chairperson of the Strategic Analysis Commission under the auspices of the President of Latvia, Chief of Staff of the Speaker’s Office, and Advisor to several ministers. She holds a doctoral degree in Political Science and International Relations from the University of Latvia. Reire has also studied Political Science at the Humboldt University of Berlin (Germany) and Albert Ludwig University of Freiburg (Germany), and she has held a Residing Fulbright Research Fellow position at the John Hopkins University’s SAIS Center for Transatlantic Relations. Her core research interests include international peace and security, multilateral cooperation, strategic communication and Russia studies.
